iTranslate adds API to integrate real-time translation services with Snapchat

iTranslate, a provider of real-time translation and communication services, recently announced a new The integration for Snap Inc.’s Lens Studio. This integration will allow developers to leverage language translation services to build Snapchat AR features.

This announcement was made at Snap Inc.’s Lens Fest conference to promote the development of augmented reality on the Platform. Lens Studio is software used by developers to create and publish “lenses” that can be used in the popular social media app Snapchat. Via the new iTranslate APIs integration, developers will be able to use translation services that encompass over 50 different languages. This feature will work in real time and could enable social engagement on a global scale.

iTranslate Managing Director Giordano Contestabile had this to say about the new offering:

“We’re thrilled to have been chosen by Snap to power translation on the Lens Studio platform, and we look forward to seeing how creators and developers will use our API to invent innovative, fun, and empowering experiences for the community. Snap Global Translation helps bring the world closer, and we are on a mission to make fast, accurate, and scalable translation accessible to everyone,”

The API is available immediately, and interested developers can check out Lens Fest conference content as well as read the company’s announcement.
